Kitchen shelter reservations

Planning a gathering? Reserve a kitchen shelter at Mayfield Lake Park, Mossyrock Park or Taidnapam Park.

Got reservations?

To get your kitchen shelter reservation request form:

• Download the Kitchen Shelter Reservation Application

• Visit or contact the park where you want to stay

• Call (253) 502-8759

• Pick one up at Tacoma Public Utilities, 3628 S. 35^th St. in Tacoma, Washington

Mail in or drop off forms and deposits after January 1 for that year’s reservations. You will receive a confirmation by mail.

Our kitchen shelters feature:

• picnic tables

• barbecue grills

• electrical outlets

• water faucets

• garbage cans

You'll also find sinks at the Mossyrock and Taidnapam kitchen shelters.

When can you stay and play?

You may reserve our kitchen shelters between April 15 and October 15.

How to seal the deal

Write a $50 check or money order payable to Tacoma City Treasurer.

Applications must be postmarked or dropped off at least 14 before your requested date.

We'll return your deposit if the kitchen shelter is already booked.

Want to call the whole thing off?

Contact the park to cancel your reservation.

Cancellation fees:

• More than 14 days before your reservation date - $10

• Less than 14 days before your reservation date - $50 deposit

Other things to know

We don't allow alcoholic beverages in our kitchen shelters or day-use areas.

Our kitchen shelters may not to be used for fund-raising or for-profit events.

Only barbecue briquettes are allowed in the kitchen shelter barbecues.

The day-use parking area at Mayfield Lake Park fills up on sunny summer days. You may have to to locate parking outside of the park. We recommend that your group carpools and arrives early.
