Parks, Power, Fish & Wildlife

Tacoma Power owns seven dams and powerhouses that generate nearly half of the electricity required for its customers. But these projects do more than just produce power. They also reduce floods, protect wildlife and support outdoor recreation.

As part of our responsibility for operating hydroelectric projects, we protect and improve thousands of acres of wildlife land, own two hatcheries and support programs that increase native fish populations.

We also own and maintain four campgrounds located near our projects.
