Eligibility

To qualify for the rebate, the ultra-high efficiency heat pump must meet these ratings:

• Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5 or better.

• Minimum Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 14 or better.

• Verified tight air distribution system (ductwork)

The new unit must be installed in a home with existing electric heat in the Tacoma Power service area.

Don’t let your old heat pump or electric heating drive your energy bills skyward. For a limited time, Tacoma Power is offering a $750 rebate to customers who replace an existing heat pump, replace an electric furnace or install a new heat pump system with a qualified ultra-high efficiency system.

You can save on annual heating and cooling costs because the ultra-high efficiency model uses up to 25 percent less energy than a standard heat pump. And, you and your family also will enjoy improved year-round comfort.
